Perfect summary of modern Star Wars.

I remember lots of people claiming that Abrams "needed" to make TFA as essentially a remake/reboot of the first Star Wars movie, because everyone might have forgotten what Star Wars was and movie goers simply would not understand what they were looking at unless there was a 75 year old Han Solo helping to blow up another Death Star. It was such a bizarre claim, but after getting Rogue One and Last Jedi back-to-back I thought, well ok, they got their lazy reboot out of the way and now we are off to the races. These movies are very different and pretty good!

Then came Solo, Skywalker's Revenge, and a parade of largely turgid TV shows. Honestly, its probably for the best, and its time for my generation (80s kids) to finally let it go and accept Star Wars simply cannot mature given the demands placed on the franchise.

I’ll never forget going into Carrie Fisher’s darkened house and seeing she had a picture of herself in her bikini sitting by Jabba the Hut stuck to her refrigerator with a magnet. Yes, queen.
